Colombian Cloud Forest Conservation

Terrasos's Colombian Cloud Forest Conservation project combines reforestation with Colombia's innovative habitat banking framework. The project restores 2,800 hectares of Andean cloud forest between 1,500-2,800 metres elevation in Antioquia's western cordillera. This altitude band is one of the most biodiverse terrestrial ecosystems on Earth, with dozens of endemic bird and amphibian species.

The project uses Terrasos's habitat bank model, which creates legally protected conservation areas that generate both carbon credits and biodiversity credits. Indigenous Embera communities participate in seed collection, nursery management, and biodiversity monitoring.
